The Stedfast Tin Soldier
For my Animation and Motion Graphics class at Murray State University I decided to retell the story of Hans Christian Andersen’s, The Stedfast Tin Soldier through animation. The tin soldier was the first of the cast that I designed. I focused on having him be readably a toy, with many geometric shapes forming his body, as if he was pieced together piece by piece. Each part being painted on with only one color with some simple detailing.
The other characters followed suit. The paper ballerina shares her color scheme with the tin soldier to strengthen their connection while the goblin in the box contrasts with its grey and purple color scheme.
